What sets the number

Electrical output is project-specific

PTE does not quote a fixed power figure per tonne. Actual electrical output is established by a site-specific mass and energy balance once the feedstock and plant configuration are defined.

Outputs depend on feedstock, plant configuration and downstream equipment selection. Grid export additionally depends on network capacity, licensing and regulatory approvals.

01

Feedstock

Composition and carbon content define what the plant can convert.

02

Calorific value

Energy content per tonne sets the ceiling on recoverable energy.

03

Moisture

Water absorbs energy in drying and reduces usable output.

04

Plant size

Throughput and configuration determine achievable scale.

05

Gas yield

The quantity and quality of process gas available to the prime mover.

06

Generator efficiency

Conversion efficiency of engines, turbines or steam cycles.

07

Parasitic load

Internal plant consumption reduces exportable power.

08

Operating conditions

Availability, ambient conditions and duty cycle.

Applications

Where waste-to-power fits

01

Municipal WtE

Landfill diversion paired with local dispatchable generation.

02

Industrial energy

On-site supply for plants exposed to tariff and supply risk.

03

Mining

Power at operations where waste or residue streams are available on site.

04

Remote power

Generation where grid capacity or reliability is limited.

05

Waste facilities

Energy recovery integrated into existing handling and sorting sites.

06

Energy-intensive industry

Combined electrical and thermal demand from one conversion core.

This tool is a placeholder screening model using generic coefficients. It is not a design output, performance guarantee or offer. Real figures require feedstock analysis, a site-specific mass and energy balance and a defined plant configuration.

Model your waste stream before you plan a plant.

Send throughput, composition and analysis data and PTE will return an indicative energy and power assessment for the stream.
