About Prestige Thermal Energy

We see energy
where others see waste.

Prestige Thermal Energy exists to develop practical thermal technologies capable of recovering value from carbonaceous waste. Our focus is not simply waste destruction.

Philosophy

Waste is a feedstock. Carbon is a resource.

We approach every waste stream as an engineering problem: what useful outputs can be recovered, what plant configuration is required, and what conditions make the project viable.

That means designing around the feedstock, not forcing the feedstock to fit a pre-determined process. It also means being honest about what a given stream can and cannot produce.

Achievable products, yields and quality depend on feedstock composition, plant configuration and downstream upgrading.

Resource recovery

Recovering materials and energy vectors from waste streams rather than treating them as disposable.

Energy recovery

Converting the chemical energy locked in carbonaceous feedstocks into useful thermal and electrical power.

Carbon utilisation

Putting existing carbon back to work as syngas, hydrocarbons and solid products instead of releasing it without value.

Fuel production

Engineering pathways toward liquid fuels, synthetic hydrocarbons and advanced aviation fuel precursors.

Engineered infrastructure

Designing, fabricating and commissioning real plant equipment for real operating environments.

Our mission

Engineer scalable thermal conversion technologies that transform difficult carbonaceous waste streams into useful energy and valuable products.

Our technology

Flash Pyrolysis Technology

Our core conversion platform is rapid thermal decomposition of suitable carbonaceous material under controlled, oxygen-limited conditions. The result is a flexible process train that can be oriented toward power, liquid fuels or synthesis gas depending on the project.

Flash pyrolysis gives us a common starting point for many different waste streams and energy products. From that starting point, we engineer the preparation, gas cleaning, conditioning and downstream upgrading steps the specific project requires.

Our engineering heritage

Built with Technotherm

PTE develops the technology and the projects. Our sister company, Technotherm, provides the deep thermal engineering, fabrication and manufacturing capability that turns process concepts into operating plant.

That relationship gives us an unusual advantage: we can design a process and then build the equipment that executes it, under one engineering lineage.

What we believe

Engineering-led values

Engineering first

Process, mechanical and thermal engineering are the foundation of every plant we develop.

Technology with purpose

We build technology to solve real waste and energy problems, not to chase headlines.

Commercial reality

A process only works if it works economically. Plant design is shaped by project viability.

Continuous innovation

We improve the process within the boundaries of what is proven, controllable and scalable.

Global ambition

Engineered in South Africa. Designed for deployment wherever waste and energy demand meet.

Resource efficiency

We maximise the useful output from every tonne of suitable feedstock we process.
